Site & Plant Room Review
We inspect the booster set, pipework, isolation valves, electrical supply and any associated break tank or pressurisation equipment.
Performance Testing
Flow, pressure and current readings are recorded under load. Cascade and duty/standby alternation are proven on twin and triple sets.
Mechanical Service
Mechanical seals, bearings, couplings and impellers are inspected. Pressure vessel pre-charge is checked and topped up to specification.
Controls & Sensors
Pressure transducers, level switches, contactors and the variable speed drive (where fitted) are tested and re-calibrated.
Service Report Issued
You receive a same-day service report covering readings, remedial recommendations and the next service due date.
Scope of a Booster Pump Service
From break tank inlet to building riser
Everything between the cold water storage and the first floor riser is in scope.
What we cover
We service the booster set, its controls and the immediate pipework between the cold water break tank and the first floor riser — including all electrical controls, the pressure vessel and the cascade controller where fitted.
Included in the service:
- ✓ Pump heads, motors, mechanical seals and bearings
- ✓ Pressure vessel pre-charge and integrity
- ✓ Pressure transducers, level switches and sensors
- ✓ Cascade / duty-standby controller logic
- ✓ Variable speed drive (VSD) parameters
- ✓ Isolation valves and non-return valves on the set
Not included:
- ✗ Cleaning or disinfection of the break tank (specialist contractor)
- ✗ Riser pipework above the booster set
- ✗ Electrical supply distribution board
Pump Service Outcomes
Every booster pump we inspect is reported under one of three condition ratings so you know whether it's safe to leave in service, needs scheduled remedials, or must be replaced.
Serviceable
Pump and controls perform within manufacturer tolerances. Continue to use as normal until the next scheduled service.
Remedials Required
The pump is operational but performance is degraded. Remedial work (seals, bearings, transducer, pre-charge) should be scheduled within 4–8 weeks.
Replacement Recommended
The pump has reached end of economic life. Continued running risks unplanned failure — we'll quote a like-for-like or upgraded replacement set.
